About the Company

One of Qatar's largest power and water assets.

Ras Girtas Power Company is a joint stock corporation established to increase Qatar's capacity of water and electricity. Located in Ras Laffan Industrial City, the plant produces 2,730 megawatts of power and 63 MIGD of potable water -- one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world.

The company draws upon Qatar's vast natural gas resources, supplied by Qatar Petroleum. Power and water are generated using state-of-the-art gas turbines, steam turbines, and boilers -- a fully automated co-generation facility designed for national-scale reliability.

The project was completed in a record time of three years, a testament to the engineering ambition behind RGPC and the multinational partnership that brought it to life.
